Radio Two in partnership with Chris Evans and his morning breakfast show are currently running their third Five Hundred Words Competition for children aged 13 and under.

The winner will win the height of Chris Evans in books to keep for themselves, as well as five hundred new books for their school. Their story will also be read out on national radio by a famous actor.
If you are interested in entering, the competition runs until 7.00 p.m. on February 22nd. Entries must be posted to the e-mail address on the website.
The judges include Top Gear’s Richard Hammond, Frank Cottrell Boyce and Jacqueline Wilson.

As well as printable tip sheets there are lots of video clips you can watch by different authors, talking about their tips for writing stories and offering advice and ideas.
