Charlie Higson is probably most well known as one of the actors and writers in the ensemble television programme; ‘The Fast Show’.
In recent years however, he has made the transition to author, with a highly successful string of books based on the character of the young James Bond, as well as his current series of zombie books (The Enemy series) for the teen/YA market.
His books are quite violent, and are clearly written for the older end of the teen market.

To promote his last book, The Sacrifice, Higson made a zombie film, which he cast by appealing to the readers of his blog and his followers on Twitter. The film can be seen on his website.

Again, I would caution that the content on the twitter feed is not appropriate for young children.
To promote his latest book, The Fallen, he has launched a competition with The Guardian to find young film makers who want to make a trailer to advertise the book. Click on this link to read the article.
There are three age groups that can enter the competition, under sixteens, sixteen to twenty four year olds and over twenty fives.
The competition will be judged by Charlie, a member of the BFI and someone from Penguin books.
The prizes include £350 of film making equipment vouchers; signed copies of the books, membership of the BFI, and tickets to the BFI Future Film event on September 7th.
